Wix generates its markup at runtime with absolutely-positioned containers and lazy-loaded media. There is no file to download and no template to lift, so the usual advice is a full rebuild.
Because the capture happens after Wix's renderer has done its work, the layout it produces is concrete: positions, sizes and styles are resolved values, not builder instructions.
Wix sites often lean on platform apps — bookings, stores, forms. Those are functionality, not design, and need WordPress plugin equivalents after the move.
How it works, step by step
1. Open your published Wix site
Use the live domain or the wixsite.com address. The editor canvas is not the rendered site, so always capture the published version.
2. Scroll the whole page before capturing
Wix lazy-loads images and reveals sections on scroll. A full scroll makes sure everything is rendered, then click Generate theme.
3. Install in WordPress and replace apps with plugins
Upload the .zip, activate, then swap Wix apps for WordPress plugins — a form plugin for contact forms, a booking plugin for appointments, WooCommerce for a store.
