THEMIFY — Privacy Policy

1. What Themify does

Themify is a browser extension that captures the HTML, CSS, images, and other assets of a webpage you actively choose to convert, and repackages them into an installable WordPress theme (a .zip file). The entire process — capturing, crawling internal pages, and building the archive — runs inside your browser using your device's own resources.

2. Data we do not collect

Themify does not have a backend server, and the extension does not send any of the following to us or to any third party:

• The content, HTML, or assets of pages you convert
• Your browsing history or the list of sites you visit
• The theme name, author name, or any other field you type into the popup
• Personally identifiable information of any kind
• Usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports

3. Data stored locally on your device

Themify uses the browser's built-in storage API to remember a small amount of information only on your own device. It is never transmitted anywhere:

• Your one-time confirmation that you own the site (or have the owner's permission) to convert it — stored so you're not asked to confirm this on every use. Stays in local browser storage only.
• The theme name and author name you last typed — stored for convenience, so the fields don't reset if you reopen the popup. Stays in local browser storage only.

4. Network requests

When you run a conversion, Themify fetches the HTML, stylesheets, scripts, images, and fonts of the page you're converting, directly from the site that serves them — the same way your browser already does when you visit that page normally. These requests go from your browser to the site being converted; none of that traffic passes through, or is visible to, Themify or Themify.io.

5. Permissions the extension requests

Chrome requires extensions to declare upfront the permissions they need. Here is what Themify requests and why:

• activeTab — Read the URL and content of the tab you choose to convert.
• scripting — Inject the local script that captures the page's HTML and assets.
• tabs / windows — Open and navigate the internal pages of the site being crawled.
• downloads — Save the generated theme .zip file to your computer.
• storage — Remember your consent confirmation and last-used form values, locally.
• Host permissions (all sites) — Let you choose to convert any site you own or have permission to copy, not just a fixed list.

6. Intended use and third-party content

Themify is built for converting websites you own, or websites where you have obtained the explicit permission of the owner. When you convert a page, you are responsible for the legality of doing so under applicable copyright law and the target site's terms of service; Themify does not review, endorse, or take responsibility for the pages a user chooses to convert.

7. Children's privacy

Themify is a developer tool not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, since we do not collect information at all.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Since Themify doesn't collect contact information, we're not able to notify you directly — please check back here if you'd like to review the current version.
