Why this conversion is different
Freelancers lose money on the least creative part of a project — turning a finished design into header.php, footer.php and a stylesheet that behaves.
Subcontracting that step eats the margin, and learning it properly costs weeks you would rather bill.
Themify converts the rendered page, so a designer can deliver a WordPress site without becoming a theme developer first.
How it works, step by step
1. Design and publish the page anywhere
Use the tool you are fastest in. As long as the page renders in Chrome at a URL you control, it can be converted.
2. Generate the theme
Open the Themify popup on the finished page and press Generate theme. Your first conversion is free, so you can try it on a real project before paying.
3. Install and hand over
Upload the .zip in wp-admin, add a form plugin and a menu, and hand the client a WordPress site they can edit.
What gets converted — and what doesn't
Converted
- The finished layout with its responsive behaviour
- Fonts, images, icons and background graphics
- Every CSS rule applied to the page, including custom properties
- Animations and hover states as rendered
Not converted
- Backend features — memberships, carts and databases need plugins
- Form handling, which you connect after install
- Content editing regions, which you decide and wire up
A real example
Before
A one-page restaurant site designed for a local client, who insists on WordPress because their nephew maintains it.
After
A WordPress theme installed the same evening, with the menu and opening hours editable through a form plugin and the block editor.
The finished page is captured in the browser, packaged as a theme, uploaded to the client's hosting and finished with two plugins.
Benefits
- Take WordPress projects without learning theme development
- Turn a day of work into an hour, at a fixed monthly cost
- Fewer revisions, because the output matches the approved design
- Runs locally, so client work stays private
Limits to know before you start
- You still need to know basic WordPress admin
- Complex web apps are out of scope
- Convert only sites you are authorised to migrate
